"Thank you for contacting me regarding your support for a pedestrian underpass beneath Georgia Avenue at the Forest Glen Metro Station.  I appreciate the safety concerns you raised in your e-mail.

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority estimates that this underpass would cost about $8-10 million to design and build.  Every year, the County Executive and Council update our joint State transportation construction priority list.  The current list was updated in November and it will most likely be revised this winter following the election of the next Council.

I will certainly consider the pedestrian underpass when we develop our list of transportation priorities for next year.  Thanks again for taking the time to contact me with your input."
