(Response written by Mr. Perez's assistant):
"Thank you for taking the time to e-mail.  Councilmember Perez appreciates hearing about your concerns.

We are well aware of the safety concerns at Forest Glen – it is an ongoing problem with ongoing attempts to implement the best combination of solutions.  Currently, the Silver Spring Citizens Advisory Board is in conversation, of which we are an indirect partner, with the State Highway Administration (SHA) about the possible steps that can be implemented to address the safety issue.  We absolutely agree that measures need to be taken to secure pedestrian and traffic safety, but we are currently not in a position to identify which measures would work best.

We support the Advisory Board’s conversation with SHA and support action by SHA at the earliest possible time.  Our office will continue to do all that we can to make this intersection a safer place for everyone who uses it.
