Thank you to the residents for taking this issue on! I strongly support making this improvement to promote the walkability of our community and I will fight for it on the County Council. As a candidate who has spent a great deal of time walking the district and working the Metros, I’m quite familiar with the challenges of crossing Georgia at Forest Glen—its a terrible hazard. Now that this intersection has been rated the most congested in Montgomery County, there is no excuse for making a comprehensive improvement to the intersection all the way through the Beltway interchange, including the tunnel under Georgia Avenue. If a plan for a comprehensive improvement seems likely only to delay the tunnel, I will fight for it as a stand-alone project.
