Last year, one of the county's most notorious pedestrian accidents in recent memory occurred at our intersection.  On 4/28/06 at 7:22 PM, four pedestrians were crossing legally, with the pedestrian walk signal, in the northern crosswalk.  A driver turned right out of the eastern side of Forest Glen to head north on Georgia.  The car struck all four pedestrians.  Two of them were children.  The driver was not drunk and there was no adverse weather, but he claimed the sun was in his eyes.  One person was taken to Suburban Hospital and two were taken to Children's Hospital.

This accident occurred on a sunny, typical evening.  Another similar accident could happen next month, next week, or tomorrow.
