On January 16, Crossing Georgia members attended the County Budget Forum and had a chance to speak directly with County Executive Ike Leggett.

The following is the statement made by Crossing Georgia committee chair Adam Pagnucco: My name is Adam Pagnucco. I’m a member of the Forest Estates Community Association near the corner of Georgia Avenue and Forest Glen Road.
As you know, we have been trying to get a Forest Glen Metro entrance built on the eastern side of Georgia. The intersection is just too congested and dangerous for us to cross at rush hour and at night. You have been a consistent supporter of opening the Metro entrance since we started our campaign.
Mr. Leggett, I am here tonight to say that we appreciate your responsiveness on the issue. We appreciate the position you’ve taken in supporting the new Metro entrance. And we appreciate what you are doing to help us.
The county council has called for a comprehensive study of the intersection to fix its problems. You have told DPWT to participate. We’d like it if you could help us bring WMATA and State Highway to the table as well.
And we’d also like to have your support for including the Metro entrance in both the CTP letter and the CIP – through a supplemental if necessary.
But overall, we are glad to have such a good friend of the Forest Glen neighborhood in the County Executive’s office. Thank you sir. Read a letter of support from County Executive Ike Leggett |
