The intersection of Georgia Avenue and Forest Glen Road is the #1 most congested intersection in Montgomery County. This intersection is a perfect storm of traffic and pedestrians:

  • The Forest Glen Metro station is at this intersection, bringing in pedestrians from local neighborhoods
  • Entrances and exits to the Capital Beltway are just yards from this intersection
  • It is the closest major intersection to Holy Cross Hospital

Despite the top traffic ranking, and the tragic number of car accidents and pedestrian fatalities at this intersection, the Maryland government has not stepped in with a plan to make the area safer.

Instead, Metro plans on building a new housing development at the intersection, greatly increasing the number of cars and pedestrian traffic!

In this election year, help us inform our representatives in the County Council that they cannot sit on their hands any longer. This is an issue that needs a resolution - before more pedestrians lose their lives.
